The Psalmistry
1. Hear me, O God.
Save my life from the enemy.
Keep me safe, O God.
Evil plots in its iniquity.
Can't You see?
Their tongues are swords,
and they aim their words like deadly spears —
God be near!
Protect me.
2. Be with me, O God.
Turn the tongues against the evil ones.
Bring their plans to ruin.
Let the people see what You have done:
that we've won!
Then all will fear,
and proclaim Your name with all their heart —
Great Thou art!
God be near.
